Laika was surrendered to the Wake County shelter with her 4 puppies, most likely because someone complained they weren’t being taken care of as poor Laika was extremely skinny. She has been adopted by Adam of Raleigh.

King was an owner surrender when his owners moved and did not take him with them. This ultimately was a good thing for King because he was also heartworm positive, and received the medical care he needed. Now called Norman,

Janie, renamed Artemis, came to us from the Granville County shelter. She now lives in Chapel Hill with her foster family (l-to-r): Jenny, Andy, Rosie (in back) and Robbie.

Dixie and her sister Ginger are pair of dogs with skin issues we pulled from Wake County Shelter. Sadly, they have been in and out of the shelter together since 2016 as the owner was unable to care for them.

Fiona and Jenny were found as strays together and brought to a rural shelter. Renamed Macy, she now lives in Fuquay Varina with Mark and Lori.

Lance was found as a stray and ended up in Lee County Shelter. Shortly after coming to BFPA, we discovered he is completely deaf! Now called Dukes, he has been adopted by Amy (pictured) and her fiancé Mike of Raleigh.

Luke Wilson (renamed Hobbs) and his brother, Owen, were stray puppies brought into the Tyrell County shelter. He has been adopted by former BFPA adopter Amy (pictured), her husband Michael and their cute daughters Amelia and Caroline.

Benny & Blu are a bonded pair whose owner was no longer able to care for them. Luckily for these two, they were able to stay together and were adopted by Kristen & Tom of Durham.

Byrd (on right) was an owner surrender to Wake County with another dog as his person fell on hard times. Byrd was rescue only due to the large mass on his hind area which BFPA was able to have removed.

Hallie came to us from a full Caswell County where her time was up. Renamed Birdie, she has been adopted by Katherine of Asheboro.
