Vanilla is one of a litter of 6 male chihuahua puppies (Butterscotch, Fudge, Marshmallow, Sprinkles, Sugar, Vanilla) turned in to the shelter by someone who said they “found” them in a dumpster. Vanilla now lives in Raleigh with Margarete and

Trout was originally found as a stray. She was never reclaimed, and her finders reached out for help as they have a couple other dogs and a new baby. Renamed Emma, she was adopted by Michele of Raleigh.

Lilah (on right) was found as a stray and never reclaimed in Granville County. Now called Ginger, she lives in Rolesville with Christi and her other dog, Lady.

Katie was found as a stray in Randolph County, brought to the shelter, and never reclaimed. She has been adopted by repeat BFPA adopter, Erik of Cary.

Sasha (on the left) was surrendered to BFPA because she did not like the new baby in the home. She lives now in Cary with Anand, Namu, and their other dog, Kiki.

Hazel and her five, 4-week old puppies (Bud, Blossom, Robin, Rose, Sunny) were owner surrenders to Randolph County. The owner realized they could no longer take care of them so gave them up. Blossom has been adopted by Heather and

Hooch was found as a stray and ended up at Lee County shelter, and waited patiently for some time before BFPA came forward to accept him into our foster program. He now lives in Cary with Kathleen.

Dora is a hound that had been living on a property in Durham her whole life, and the new caretaker of the property wasn’t interested in having her stay. She was adopted by Noah & Jessika of Sanford.

Toto is an owner surrender to Wake County shelter that BFPA took in. He had injured his leg and it still hasn’t healed, and the owners could not afford surgery so they surrendered him. Renamed Toby, this adorable dog now
