BFPA would like to express our deepest thanks to the following businesses who have partnered with us to save the lives of homeless pets in the Triangle:
Crossroads Veterinary Hospital
By our side since our start-up in 1998, Crossroads Veterinary Hospital is BFPA’s biggest partner. Dr. Sandy Albright and her staff provide superb care for our animals. They have helped us with dozens of litters of puppies and kittens, nursed many sick dogs and cats, and performed life-saving surgeries. In addition, they provide vaccinations, microchipping, and sterilizations for the animals we bring into the rescue. Many Crossroads staffers have fostered BFPA dogs and cats in their homes, and even adopted a few themselves! They do all of this in a friendly and professional manner that never hints at the fact that they provide all of their services to us at a substantially discounted rate. To schedule an appointment for your pet, call: 919-851-8979
NC State College of Veterinary Medicine
The “Perfect Pet Program” provides surgical training for veterinary students in the junior year, in which shelter/rescue group dogs and cats are neutered in the Clinical Skills Laboratory under supervision of faculty.

When the opportunity to open Furry Feet Retreat of Cary presented itself, she jumped! Raising Aid for Dogs At Risk – RADAR Dogs
RADAR is a non-profit organization here to put at-risk dogs on the RADAR by raising vital funds and providing 100% of those funds to help get at-risk dogs out of shelters, into rescues and on to forever homes. The dogs they assist are the most urgently at risk in rural shelters, including senior dogs, black dogs and dogs with medical or special needs. These dogs are adoptable, but often need financial assistance for veterinary care.
BFPA has rescued several RADAR-sponsored dogs in the past few years and is grateful for their financial assistance!
Cedarwood Mobile Veterinary Services
Whether you have a sick pet, a new litter of puppies, or you have just moved into the area, let Dr. Tristin Lamberton bring old-fashioned care to your pets with a convenient house call! Dr. Lamberton has been making house calls to BFPA dogs and cats for years, and we thank her for always being available!
PETCO became a BFPA partner in 2011. We train dogs to work well with their handler any where – not just home or the training center – but out in public, during travel, and of course, the arrival of guests or new people at home or in the office. We also teach handlers to get behaviors with and without treats, with distractions, around other dogs and more.

BFPA prides ourselves on being able to fully equip our fosters with any supplies needed to care for our animals. With anywhere from 50-70 dogs and 20+ cats in our foster program at any given time, that makes for a lot of equipment! Thankfully, SecurCare Self Storage donates one of their units to BFPA free of charge. Their fully fenced, well-lit facility has many security features including an onsite manager, optional tenant insurance, and also sells moving and packing supplies on site and offers a free move-in truck. Plus, you’ll never have to sign a long term contract with their month-to-month rentals! Please visit them at 7012 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh, NC 27612 or call (919) 782-0191 for more information.
